All,

I have not seen a thread about this subject, and I would be interested in discussing it.

An experienced member of this forum suggested that running / swimming pretty much had to be part of the training regimen. I would like to dig into the subject.

- Is fitness training necessary for shooters, and why?
- If so, what type of fitness activity is recommended, why?
- Are we only talking about cardio, or weight training as well?
- What kind of sports would be conducive to improve shooting performance in general?
- What type of training regimen do you follow?
- Could you post any links / books on the subject that you might have read on the subject?
.... etc ....

Regards
Mre.

Yes fitness training is very important for shooting. Swimming and running are must for shooters. I do swimming in summers but running is not regular. I play cricket and Basketball almost everyday. These sports strengthens the hands and shoulder but at the same time they can cause wrist or finger injury. So when a championship is near I dont play but then I do running regularly. Besides them I do pushups and hand griping daily.
