Long Range Matches are catching up rapidly. These were started by Nawab Sardar Chandio as a memorial and tribute to his illustrous father; Nawab Shabeer Chandio; he was undoubtedly a great rifle lover and afficionado.
His knowledge was commendable and he could rattle off muzzle velocities and bullet weights alongwith trajectories of various calibers. His views were always objective and opinions so mildy put that one could only respect him more.

The Matches were then given more popularity by Pir of Bharcundi Shareef Mian Mitha and his sons namely Pir Mian Shabbeer.

A couple months later General Ahsan Mahmood Chairman POFs decided to hold matches at Wah. This added further strength to the sport and also several benefits which the ordinary eye could not percieve.

Army snipers from the Zarrar battallion and army marksmanship unit were also invited alongwith observers from the the Infantry school.

It was not only a great civil military relations get togather but also opened a great exchange of knowledge sharing about equipment, rifles, ammo and optical instruments, spotting scopes , telescopes and Kesteral weather meters and ballistic programmes. The SSG snipers were well equipped with the latest gear and so were some officers fom the army team.
The Rifles used were as Under:
Accuracy International 8 ( 7 were of Zarrar bn )
Sako TRG 1 stood 3rd at x count
CZ 750 1
Range Master 1
Savage FTR heavily 1 Stood First
( Customized )
Mauser 86 SR 1
Arnold Custom 2
M24 1
Blaser LRS2 1 Stood 2nd with x count
Remington Sendero 1
Remington Varmint 2
Steyr SSG 69 6
Stey SSG 08 1
Maximum used Rifle scopes were Schmidt & Bender PM2 followed by Nightforce and the Meopta which is gaining popularity.
The Spotting scopes used were Leupolds, Ziess and some miserable chinese ones and then there was a Meopta which stole the show and every one praised it and found it to be much better than any there was one Kowa and one Pentax and some others.
In the next match we are bound to see the spotting scopes mostly by Meopta as about 12 have already been bought by the shooters.
In the 400 yard hunting match 44 shooters participated with hunting rifles and a lot of top grade custom rifles were seen. The CZ 750 and the Meopta ZD 6-24 X56 is also gaining popularity because of its reachable price as compared to the Nightforce and the prohibbitive cost of the venerable Schmidt and Bender. More later

If only I had the patience or skill to shoot over such long distances. Are guests allowed to witness such events, i mean without participating?

The scores were very high 99/100 and 95 /100 were common and positions were decided by X count there were 4 people with 194/200 so you can imagine the standard.
No 1 had 195 or so out of 200 on a One Minute of angle target at 600 yards.
When are you returning?
Lapua Scenars Cal .308 weight 155 gr or 168 gr are desparately required I am starving.
