Have recently got my first ever PCP a Diana P1000S in .22
The gun is beautifully finished and everything seems just perfect.

The package

Image

It came with one 14 shot mag, a single shot tray, supressor, filling knobs, manuals and the beautiful P1000

Image

Filling knob and a cylinder degasing tool

Image

14 shots mag and single shot tray

Image

The rifled steel barrel with threaded muzzle and the 300 bar steel cylinder

Image

Receiver appears to be of polymer but it is beautifully coated aluminum. 11mm dovetail for optics. Has two stage adjustable T06 metal trigger. Safety engages automatically when cocked via side lever.

Image

The moderator

Image

Removing the thread protector reveals 1/2" UNF thread for moderator installation.

Image

Here is the beauty with moderator installed. The cylinder is so close to the muzzle that only Diana's own moderator/suppressor can be installed. To install any after market moderator will require an extension to be installed on the muzzle.

Image

Manometer is at the end of the cylinder. Filled all the way up to 300 bars. This is some serious muscle work right there.

Image

Scope

Scope is one the most important part of a weapon so I went for a Hawke Varmint 3-12X44mm Side focus 1/2 mil dot scope. Even at 12x the view through the scope is very clear.

Range Report

It is wisely said that no gun review should be considered complete without a range report. So here is a brief range session not a formal or proper one but hopefully will suffice. btw got a spare mag for it.

Shot some 16, 18 grain JSB and 21 grn Bisley Magnums. Following were the average velocity of the above pellets with a variation of 4fps.

JSB 15.89 avg @ 900 fps
JSB 18.13 avg @ 870 fps
Bisley Magnum 21.6 @ 820 fps

The gun is a treat to shoot and amazingly accurate. The silencer on it seems to be a bit loud but somehow the birds did not notice it. Maybe it supresses the frequencies that need to be supressed.

Did some group shots, 5 each of above pellets, at 50 meters while sitting on a bench and resting my elbow on the thigh. Wind was blowing from right at around 5mph. I am pretty sure that with a proper rest the groups can be tightened to a single hole. Here are the result.
(sorry did not have proper targets)

Bisley Magnum 21.6 grn

Image

JSB 18.1 grn

Image

JSB 15.89 grn

Image

Conclusion

The above tells a lot about its performance. IMO anyone who can afford this gun should go for it with their eyes closed.

Hope I did justice to the gun. Your feedback will tell :)

Lovely gun and a crisp review. My friend (in Islamabad) also bought the same Diana few weeks back. I had a ball of a time, downing 8 crows and winging 2 other in about 7-8 mins, using Crosman premier 14grn hollow points, @ 50-60m !
.....German craftsmanship at its best .....

thanks for the appreciation. This gun is amazingly accurate. once you start shooting it you don't wana stop. Go up to 18 grain pellets and you will know its true potential. I have downed 9 crows with 21 grn Bisley and 18grn JSB at 75+ yards. All were dead before they hit the ground. The best part was they had no clue what's hitting them. Shot 5 on the same branch of the same tree within 15 minutes. For those who must be wondering why I killed the crows, well they are a menace at my home town and farmers there are always requesting me to get rid of them. But everytime I see their population growing. I think some serious measure are required to be taken to control them.

This is one of the most rated PCP of these times and pleasure to shoot
air-rilfe with some excellent accuracy .
Please do check H&N 21 grams with some serious punch power

Happy shooting :)

@Usama thank you. I am using Bisley Magnum 21.6 grains and at 820fps it really whacks the target. Haven't used H&N, are they good ?

@Wajeeh Hasan thanks for liking it

Bisley's and H&N are both good enough .
Read couple of good reviews of H&N so bought myself
2 tins of it , they look heavy with some better punch :)

thanks for the input, will try to get my hands on a tin of H&N for trial. I see there is a H&N brand named Barracuda Power in 21.14grn. they are copper coated and look pretty good. Have you any experience with it ?

WOW! What an amazing rifle and what a review. Thanks a lot. Really enjoyed reading it. The accuracy is astonishing.
That is money well spent. If one can hit 50 to 75 M with an Air Gun, then crows will definitely not know what hit them, and from where. :)
What exactly does the moderator do? And what is JSB?
Many thanks.

Thanks six_shooter. 75 yards is nothing for it I have friends who have hunted doves, pigeons etc. with it at beyond 120 yards. A friend has recently shot a kite at 178 yards and the bird dropped like a stone. It was dead as soon as the pellet hit it.

These guns operate at very high pressure and generate quite a lot of noise. Moderator basically muffles the sound a bit making it a quiet shooting gun.

JSB is the brand of pellets like you have S&B, Armscor etc.
