Was getting a good deal on this ammo and got myself a 1,000 @ 14/- from Peshawar. I wanted to to find out how it performed in my CZ 452 and got the opportunity to shoot 50 rounds this Sunday morning.

There were no duds/FTFs and the accuracy can be gauged from the following target pics. Please note that I have just begun rifle shooting and the accuracy potential of this ammo is much better than what the targets below present.

FIRST OUTING WITH THE CZ-452 STYLE .22LR

MOVING TO 50M

The rifle group is 7/16" for 4 shots (0.43 inch), and 1 5/16" for all five ( 1.31").

Nice report, and Congrats on the new rifle!

When did you buy the ammo from Peshawar?

I really enjoyed the .22LR shooting session the other day. It was a lot of fun.

Firstly, thank you for your suggestion. I will try to get Aguila if ever I come across it in our local market.

After a lot of effort, I've been able to stock the following, till now:

Bulk Ammo:
- Winchester Super X | 40gr | 1,255fps
- Armscor HVSP | 40gr | 1,235fps
- Federal Game Shok | 38gr | 1,260fps

Better Ammo:
- Lapua Standard Plus | 40gr | 1,050fps
- Eley Subsonic Hollow Extra | 40.2gr | 1,032fps
- Eley Match Pistol | 40gr | 1,075fps
- Fiocchi Standard | 40gr | 1,070fps

I'm contemplating picking up S&Bs, which I've heard are also available, only if available in standard or low velocity. I'm deliberately staying away from CCI and Federal after having had not so good experience (accuracy-wise) with them in my CZ Brno Model 2 as well as HK 270 in the past.

The plan is to break-in the CZ 452 with Armscor HVSP whilst working on my basics and thereafter move on to better quality ammo.

Lastly, please avoid the "Sir". It's just SA :)

Nice review. Thanks for the effort SA. :)

Armscor seems to be suiting your rifle well. I have shot this ammo with few pistols and rifles and did not find the accuracy up to the desired level for those weapons. However, it seems to be shooting well in your rifle so you should stick with it in my view. This review therefore covers the performance of Armscor .22 LR ammo when shot with SA's CZ 452 rifle. With other weapons, the performance might differ.

A word about the quoted muzzle velocities. The velocities quoted by the manufacturer are from a test barrel. When the same ammo is fired in a different weapon, it will most probably not achieve the same velocity and at times, the difference could be quite significant though most of the time it will stay within limits, if barrel size and quality is similar to the one in which the ammo was factory tested. For measuring the velocity accurately for a particular ammo when fired with a particular weapon, one will have to use a chronograph.

PS: Please do check the performance of S&B low velocity ammo in your rifle and let me know.

regards

@ KBW,

You're absolutely right and the title of this thread should also be changed accordingly, "Range Report > Armscor HVSP with CZ-452"

I will certainly test S&B low/standard velocity rounds and let you know, as soon as I get my hands on a box.

Exceptionally good results, I agree with Bro KBW, my CZ 455 also not in favor of it. Lets see if it works same after break in as well.

Will keep updating this thread post break-in, which I'm assuming to be 200 rounds.

Got to try Armscor HVSP 40gr from 100 yards today with my CZ 452 Style. Results are as follows:

Image

This ammo is surprisingly performing extremely well in my CZ 452 and the results I'm getting with it are at par with the results I'm getting in the same rifle with better brand ammo such as Lapua. I am quite pleased :)

MJ, you have Armscor .22 Hollow Points (hence less weight, 36gr), while SA has the normal 40gr ammo.

Or did you want to check something else?

Actually, I am also looking for the Armscor FMJ's & Right now, It's not available in Punjab,

I need to send the box pic to couple of friends to find it for me,

Last time i asked for it & my friend brought these 500 Hollow Points instead FMJ's, :angry-fire:
