@Shariq bro,
Bernaul is retailing at same price as chinese red box in Lahore, so I think karachi should be no different (42-44rs/round max).

Saif Bro
Except for Chinese Ammo, which is cheaper in Khi, Rest all sell for higher price in Khi. Due to some duty / tariffs issues, Khi dealers don't import arms and ammo directly and usually get it from Lahore dealers. This is the reason arms and ammo retails for higher in Khi compared to Lhr.
I think Barnaul is much better than Chinese for range use. Lahore guys are lucky to have it at same price as Chinese 9mm.

Ammo importers are mostly sitting in Lahore and it is from there that most Karachi dealers procure their stock. It is next to impossible for us end-consumers to get cheaper ammo in Karachi as compared to Lahore.

This has always been the problem with Karachi. Somehow all arms and ammo stuff is always unrealistically expensive! Also one thing that I have overlooked is that chinese ammo is now short in Lahore, and hence expensive, which has brought its price at par with quality ammo like Bernaul.

The 'somehow' is because main importers are based in Lahore plus the greed (extraordinary margins) factor. :mrgreen:

You'll see Chinese ammo further increasing till Jan/Feb when new consignments are due.

Thanks for reminding me as I had forgotten to share the findings with everyone here.

Last Sunday we (THI and I) tested and compared the results of a few boxes of Barnaul Ammo and Chinese Red Box Ammo from 15 Meters (deliberate fire) and our results were as follows:

- FIRST SESSION (20 shots each by THI and I) = Barnaul: Shots were all over the target. Average Group size 12 inches :o Even a few fliers :shock:

- SECOND SESSION (20 shots each by THI and I) = Chinese Red Box: Good grouping, 10s, 9s and 8s. Average Group size within 5/6 inches. :)

- THIRD SESSION (20 shots each by THI and I) = Barnaul: Same results as first session. :angry-banghead:

- FOURTH SESSION (20 shots each by THI and I) = Chinese Red Box: More or less same result as second session.

We have seen two of our members testing Barnaul (one of which was a professionally conducted test by KBW) that it is an accurate round, however, the above results were quite contrary to those two. I and THI were of the view that this might be a case of 'bad lot'.

The bernaul rounds might not hv been in the mood that day, maybe comparison with chinese must have pissed 'em off! Otherwise 'original' bernaul are more accurate than chinese red box as per my experience in using them.

SA please spare 15 rounds of the same lot for me. I would like to test them too. Generally its an accurate ammo and there should not be any problem in any of its lots.

@THI...........Excellent shooting, Sir!

Seems like gun, shooter, ammo, all were in perfect condition today!

Anyhow, was this ammo from the same lot/box as the previous one above? Were the guns the same? Thanks. Regards. :)

Hmm...What a coincidence, both of you had a bad day, on the same day!!

We need someone with numerology knowledge, to analyze that specific date in relation to your dates of birth, lols! :lol:

@SA...........You mean all the Barnaul firing was same day?? It seemed to me, that THI Sahib tested it again, separately, on another day, and got a better result??

This from his line:

"Today, Barnaul redeemed itself for last week's bad performance"! :confusion-questionmarks: :confusion-scratchheadyellow:

Anyhow, I'd still appreciate to know a better cause for the poor 1. st. performance of that bad day, had you been around in Europe, the cause would have been easier understood, especially, had there been a pub around the corner of the range! :lol:

Or perhaps THI bro was just "Thakha Hua" on that day and you were seriously "be-smitten"! :lol:

Don't know. Last Sunday, we both were consistently shooting bad groups with Barnaul and good groups with Chinese from 15 meters with him using Shadow and I using CZ999. This Sunday, he shot very good groups with same gun and same ammo from 15 meters and I was there to witness it.

Only thing constant on that 'last' Sunday was that we both had McDonalds for breakfast before the shoot. :)

Thanks Janab.
It is a good ammo. Much better than Chinese and better value than S&B.
