Ok guys, I have to decide among the three:

 RWS Diana 35 | Rs. 40,000 | 740 fps | 20 Joule

 RWS Diana 31 Panther | Rs. 40,000 | 740 fps | 20 Joule

 RWS Diana 350 Magnum | Rs. 50,000 | 910 fps | 30 Joule

Purpose of use: Target shooting + small game hunting | both up to 75/80 yards

Please advise.

31 is not good enough IMO or may be I got a lemon. Its rear sight U fell off during use and I find it underpowered for longer range shooting.

31 should not cost 40k. Should be around 34k or so.

31 is one of the cheapest RWS models. 35 is a time tested gun for routine hunting, but not good enough for specialized hunting. You can read 35 review in airgun reviews. 350 Mag, well, do look into the power to weight issue. Higher power or high muzzle velocity is not necessarily better. It is the balanced combination of power and platform that produces stable and consistent results. Getting fascinated with higher muzzle velocity alone is often misleading.

Hunting and target shooting are two opposite requirement. All target air rifles are low velocity, in the range of 400 to 550 ft/sec. Hunting air rifles are high velocity, between 700 to 1000 ft / sec. Cant have both in one rifle.

If you want a springer than heavier the better. You would notice that all quality springers like RWS, Beeman, Weihrauch etc are all on the heavier side. A light weight springer with high MV would never be very stable. May consider PCP guns also. Every now and then, you will find one odd peace available in the market.

regards

Thankyou KBW for detailed feedback.

Ok, let's simplify it and narrow down the purpose of use to small to medium game hunting up to 80 yards. Which is leading me towards 350M.

54 AirKing......the best airgun in Diana range,

350 Magnum is the most inaccurate & wasted airgun Diana has ever made.

In hunting, you won't like to carry an 11 lb gun. Diana 54 AirKing is a very fine air rifle but it's too heavy to be carried during hunting. Secondly, 80 M is too much of a range for air rifles. So with air rifles, you are looking at something like 30-40 m most of the time with an occasional shot of 50 m (please don't be mislead by information available on internet with guys shooting from 100 M. Those are different guns with different type of pallents, not available in Pakistan).

350, as I said earlier, is not a balanced platform. Must you go for a springer? How about a PCP gun?

@ MJ,

Been there, done that. Had a Gamo Shadow 1000 and sold it. Looking for something which is a keeper and which can be passed on to the next generation.

@ KBW,

So, RWS Diana 35 it is then. Same MV as the Shadow. Highly durable, reliable and superb craftsmanship. Is a price between 35k to 40k a reasonable price for it?

@ SA, do consider Gamo as well. I have a Whisper X.
But off course Diana is much better.

@ 6S,

Bro, I had Gamo Shadow and enjoyed it thoroughly. However, when I compare it with RWS 35 (or 34 for that matter), the durability and elegance of RWS is head and shoulders above Gamo. Moreover, the T05 (T06 on later models) trigger is much better than Gamo's creepy trigger. Don't know about whisper but Shadow's trigger was quite creepy.

RWS air rifles, specially the deluxe models like the one in pic below, are a real joy to have. Excellent craftsmanship and reliable service for decades. Gamo doesn't fall in that category though its a reasonably good air rifle in its price range. Try to look for a deluxe model as standard model do not have that classy finish though they are good enough.

This air rifle is more beautiful than it looks in the pics.

Then i will agree with KBW.

If some one wants to have a good one, then why not a PCP?

Maybe due to budget restraint, instead why not a fixed barrel say RWS 460 Magnum? Yes do cost more than the one SA has in the list but much less than a good PCP rifle.. :)

hmmmmm. Useful inputs which leads me to revisit the whole thing again.

Purpose of Use, Pre-requisites and Budget:

- Hunting small game up to 50 meters (rabbits, squirrels, etc);

- Weight upto 4kg / 8lbs ~

- A 22 Springer

- High durability, reliability and fit-finish. A keeper which should be able to perform consistently throughout the years.

- Upto Rs. 75,000 with decent optics (preferably leapers) a single block mount and bi-pod.

So....... ?

Diana P1000, the gun alone would be over 100 k. :)

Only after the CZ 750 is delivered.

Waisay, I picked up both the above today with a single piece Diana mount and original Gamo scope for the Diana 35 and Chinese mounts and Chinese Bushnell scope for the Gamo Shadow 1000.

The Diana setup set me back by Rs. 50k. 36k for the Diana 35, 5k for the Diana single piece mount and 10k for Gamo scope. (Gamo scope copy was being offered at 4k). The Shadow cost me 16k while the mounts and Chinese Bushnell scope combined cost another 4k - Total Rs. 20k for the Shadow setup.

Further details about the dealer in Dealers' Review section.
