Today's airgun target................

Shooter......................KBW
Air Rifle......................RWS 35
Sights........................Tesco 3x9-40 Scope
Pallets........................Gamo Target
Distance.....................25 M
Stance.......................From the chair, shooting with right hand. Elbows resting on the back of the chair but no support under the hands / arms.
Target.......................Birchwood Casey target. Non standard specifications. For this shootout, 10 pt is 0.5 inch red bull, remaining 10 is 9 pts, 9 ring is 8 pts and so on.
- String 1...............43/50, Group 1.5 inches (44/50) Total 87/100
- String 2...............45/50, Group 0.5 inches (50/50) Total 95/100
- String 3...............45/50, Group 1.5 inches (44/50) Total 89/100
- String 4...............43/50, Group 1.4 inches (45/50) Total 88/100

176/200, Average group 1.24 inches (183/200), Total 359/400
(89.75%)

Despite the fact that 10 pts was the small red circle and I could not get even a single pallet in the 10, I scored very well today and it was mainly due to the size of the groups. Was quite consistent in making reasonably small groups and the one in the second string was a real delight.

I this game that I play, rules are such that group size has much more weightage. Enjoyed shooting this target today. Only one flier at 5 o'clock in 7 ring (8 ring on the target) :)

Nice shooting Zain.

I really liked Wajeeh's target and would love to see more of his targets in future.

Haider, better luck next time. What is important is we keep practicing and come back with good performance in future.

It feels really great to see our youngsters' enthusiasm, motivation and dedication. Keep it up.

Just to check my shooting skills with both hands.................... :violence-rapidfire:

Shooter......................KBW
Air Rifle......................RWS 35
Sights........................Tesco 3x9-40 Scope
Pallets........................Gamo Target
Distance.....................25 M
Stance.......................From the chair, shooting two strings with right hand and two with left hand. Elbows resting on the back of the chair but no support under the hands / arms.
Target.......................25 M standard pistol. For this shootout, 10 pt is 0.5 inch bull, remaining 10 is 9 pts, 9 ring is 8 pts and so on.
- String 1 (Right hand)...............46/50, Group 1.3 inches (46/50) Total 92/100 (shots shown in circle)
- String 2 (right hand)...............46/50, Group 1.9 inches (40/50) Total 86/100 (shots shown in circle)
- String 3 (left hand).................40/50, Group 3.2 inches (28/50) Total 68/100 (shots shown in squares)
- String 4 (left hand).................44/50, Group 1.4 inches (45/50) Total 89/100 (shots shown in squares)
Total ............................176/200 for precision, 159/200 for grouping, 335/400 overall (83.75%)

Image

Shot ok with right hand. With left hand, first string was all over the place but second string was good. I have been practicing shooting .22 rifle and airgun with both hands. With air gun while hunting, the capability to shoot effectively with both hand gives a distinct advantage of using the cover behind a tree from both side (left and right of the tree). With pistol, I am already shooting with both hands since last one year and now, I shoot better with my new hand (left hand).

With shotguns and bigbore rifles, its a different story. I am shooting with right hand only (my strong hand).

I thought I might 'bump' this thread with a target I shot yesterday with my Chinese .22 lever action airgun.

Distance = approximately 25 yards

I've just bought an air rifle, and noticed this thread nudged back into life.

Do you find the pellets you fire make a big difference? I bought 4 packets of different pellets from Daisy and Winchester to try out, curious to see if different ammo grouped differently.

I feel a range review coming on.

Kind regards,
Mark

@ Mark,

A range review would be great.

Unfortunately, here in Pakistan, we have limited options in Pellets so we're stuck with only a few.

However I do remember KBW doing a range report of those various pellets available and it is here in this section. Ok, heres the link viewtopic.php?f=30&t=301

You're right, different pellets do group differently, sometimes significantly. Like it is in case of firearms, some air rifles shoot better groups with certain pellets.

Awaiting your range report :)

Very nice shooting and the second group is pretty decent.

Thanks for bumping this thread..... It just made me remember that I have one air rifle lying in the Gun Cabinet untouched since the last couple of months. :)

@ Shooter, bhai very nice shooting. I never knew the Chinese lever action was so accurate. Do you use iron sights or Telescope?
