I hope there's going to be some price control from POF side.

As per my info, the are doing transfer of technology agreement. That means Sarsilmaz will be installing a plant for the win manufacture in wah. That sound pretty good. :)

I am afraid that your info is not right, why can't POF produce these weapons in their owe facility?

First, Importing such cheap weapons is much easier than installing a new plant when you already have one.

Second, POF was & is never intrusted in inselling these weapons to civilians & same thing is gonna happen to these pistols & shotguns.

As per my discussion with POF guys few months back they said they couldn't mass produce the 92FS because of not having a facility for such a massive production (Besides they wanted to check the public response also). It is not just one plant which can cater to all needs, as I understand it.
The specifics will have to be dealt with their own plant. I guess so.

MJ, POF does not have a pistol manufacturing plant. They have G3, MP5 and MG1A3 plants along with ammo plants. And you are right, POF will not be interested in manufacturing a pistol of civilian use only. Primarily it will be for army but all NPB weapons can be supplied in civilian market also. Sarsilmaz B6 is a standard issue in Pak Army nowadays.

Dear Mian Jee, (I am new member of TGF, though I have been following it for a year or so) would you please comment on the range report of the two Turkish guns you have acquired.

Sorry for the late reply,

I Just borrowed these guns to review them but people started criticizing them just for the sake of criticism (as usual) before even seeing them with their own eyes,

hence never bothered to waste my time any more.

Aquamariner, please see a detailed review on Sarsilmaz B6 here.....
http://thegunforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=164

Sarsilmaz B6 is a standard issue side arm in Pakistan Army since more than two years and it's performance has been reasonably good.

About ST9, I have no experience of shooting this gun. MJ is requested to give his views on this.

regards

I have a friend in Army who has been using B6 for quite sometime and he vouches for its reliability. Being a handgun enthusiast he can shoot better with it than any of his handguns (as per him).
I saw the St9 once at Industrial Exhibition, I think it is more on the lines of TP9. But off course MJ could tell us more about it.

I thank MJ and Master at Arms for your valuable input. I would like to apprise the forum that the POF has been granted permission of selling these pistols by Sind Govt..(confirmed from the Mr Waseem of POF in Karachi). Now the procedure to be followed for distribution through dealers is being sorted out. I do believe that this will take some time considering the lengthy bureaucratic channels. The ST-9 is some what similar to TP-9..as they have developed together and have almost identical features, however TP-9 as gained more fame over ST-9 and is also new to our market so I was curious if any one had any experience on this gun same may be shared.

Thanks for the information brother. BTW, I find it quite amusing that POF needs to get permission from Sind Govt to sell their pistols in Karachi. Dealers are selling all kind of pistols and have been even selling fully automatic pistols some time back but the official Pakistani weapon manufacturer needs a permission for selling its weapons in Sind :confusion-questionmarks: What kind of permission is that, precisely?

With ref to Master at Arms remarks I would quote the comments of Enigmatic Desires "There is already a show room that they have in Karachi's Lucky Star Market. That the POF people have set up. They are waiting for a dealer license from the provincial govt to start selling :D". I have referred to this permission, may be I did not put it across in right terms.

Let me make it simple for you,

Neither the POF or any of their dealer is willing to sell these pistol's because the deal makers have already digested their commissions & nothing else has been left for them in this game.

And the local dealers are not buying it because prices are set by POF & their profits are zero as compared to the imported weapons.

So these pistol's will eventually end up dumped somewhere like PK9.

Hmmm In this case since they have an outlet in Karachi's biggest arms market , why go though dealers why not sell directly to the public.
