Recently I made an online purchase of the Bright Sights "Gun Sighting Kit" it took 3 months to deliver and a lot of hassle...at last they arrived!! These are two different type of high visibility gun sight coatings which come in the glow in the dark and regular type. The glow in the dark type of coating comes in a box of 3 varying colors of green, orange and yellow with their respective light activated "Ghost Glow" substances which has to be mixed in a 1:3 ratio quantity to get effective results. It also contains a bottle of gun sight cleaning liquid and a small brush and applicator. The regular gun sight comes in a box of 5 different colors i.e. white, red, orange, green, and yellow along with a gun sight cleaner, applicator and brush. Application is quite simple however, it requires 48 -72 hours for proper curing. I used the glow in the dark coating in an orange and green color combination for the front and rear sights of my viking, and this is how it looks like!! Not bad!!The "ghost glow" surely works, it is a light activated substance that must be charged with light to glow in the dark....a flash light or torch may be quite effective here...the duration and intensity of the glow depends on the time and intensity of the light source. The different color combination increases the contrast between the front and rear sights and the target. They also provide the shooter with quick sight alignment , rapid target acquisition and more accurate shot placement. So much for the qualities of the gun sight coatings...now lets put these claims to test!!! regards, gichki.

Thanks for sharing Gichki sb. It would be interesting to see how long it lasts and how it performs while it lasts.

Thanks for sharing Gichki. Did you apply multiple coats? because I applied once and that wasn't enough. Now I think I will put another coat on them.

@6S,
my handgun has dot sights so simply used the applicator; one can also use a toothpick or a matchstick as an alternate...just so I got a drop of the mixed coating and very carefully placed this drop and or 2 drops if required....of this coating onto the sights, then cleaned the sights using a flat end like a small spatula or something...i guess the small brush would be applied for coating a bead, blade or ramp sights....again as required in a single layer or more!!
Regards, gichki.

@AI, excluding the time, effort and headache it took me 100 USD flat inclusive of the shipping/handling....however the 90 days in shipping and the effort in tracking and ensuring delivery was too hectic!!

Gichki That's a nice work brother. Is it the same Viking that we tested on the range?
BTW, why did it take 90 days? Was it stopped by customs?
regards

@ KBW!! Sirjee!! long time!! Thank you and yeah!! It is the same old viking!! Initially they declined to ship due to some export laws...they were not shipping to Pakistan!! So had to get it delivered to a friends address in the U.S. then he shipped it to me...and some how for some reason the shipment was late....at least last month they had their holiday season!! I had ordered it sometime back in mid-october I got the package the first week of January! BTW sirjee...still in Pindi....any chances of getting back to Quetta??? Regards,

Gichki bhai, I would love to be in Quetta anytime but........ you know I love the rugged wilderness of Balochistan more than any other place. Was talking to my good friend Sardar Naseer yesterday and when he informed me that there is lot of Sand Grouse, Chakore and See See this year........ I felt like flying to Quetta immediately but.............

LOL!! Swissman...good luck with it...I bet it is a better product than the sight coating I ordered....It should be!!
Not that I am being sexist here...but its a feminine beauty product...it is supposed to stick to any kind of surface!!
If it is taking 6 weeks for your delivery I should not complain if I got mine in 12!!
Regards,

 This product is cheap and poor quality, after 5-10 minutes the light intensity is reduced by 80%. Tomorrow I'll try to paint my pistol sights.

@swissman, in my opinion it is as good as the bright sights....even these do not last longer than 10 mins, then one has to recharge them again for 15-30 secs with the help of a light source!!

Hi all, Today I cleaned and re-painted my handgun sights...its been more than 10 months I first used this painting kit!! During the time I have fired at least 90 rounds!! I guess it passes the durability and time test!! regards, gichki.
