Brunox is good for cleaning dirt after firing, including copper. But don't use it too much. It will spoil bluing. Thanks :)

How it will spoil bluing. Does it contain any chemical harmful for bluing ?. If we restrict its use to internals only then any chance of harm ?

It is a solvent. If you use more, it will effect the shine of bluing. If you use sometimes than its ok. Thanks

So this will apply for all solvents. I don't apply to bluing anyway :)

Last sunday was my first every experience of cleaning a weapon. Despite all the years I have been carrying and using fire arms, I never cleaned a weapon myself. But after seeing the passion which most our esteemed members have for guns and specially maintaining them. After taking a beauty nap, after an early sunday range session I gave it ago!
Tools used for cleaning were very basic, I managed to dissassemble it in no time but it took me around 15 minutes to reassmble. This comming sunday, I plan to take all my stuff out and clean them myself..... An exiting experience for me and I thought of sharing with all of you.......any one who wishes to get their weapons cleaned bring them over :P

My dear SH, some of us keep the guns basically for this pleasure.

Heck, it's just the second best pleasure! ;)

If we didn't enjoy it this much, we wouldn't field-strip at every 10 shots! ;)

 I have been spraying my Steoger with brunox since two years now inside and outside. I have not seen any effect on gun's bluing. Should I stop doing it? I think it cleans off any sweat stains from the frame and slide very well.

I believe this assertion on the Brunox is basically unfounded by relevance to bluing damages, a casual remark only.

Brunox contains moderate quantity of solvent, is basically a 3-in-one kind of thing, clean, lubricate, rust protect. Am myself a Brunox addict, never found any such issues. :)

Zargham Bro, the Black one (IWCK System) might be available in Sitara Market Peshawar for about Rs. 3-4KThe brown one, costs around Rs. 2-3K. They're essentially the same kits, the difference being an additional Gerber 600 series Multi-Tool and a Rifle Cleaning Rod!

I'm sure the more experienced shotgunners will give more solid input, but here's my humble suggestion; go for an Otis Shotgun Cleaning Kit!

Tipton Gun Cleaning Supplies has some great products should you folks have ease of availability.....

Gun Cleaning Vises
I have used both models (top and middle URLs) but favor the first one as that offers much versatility for performing maintenence chores involving various types of firearms.

@ Mian Jee,

Check out the second last pic. I think it's the same one. These are sometimes available. I've seen this once at one of the shops @ Zamzama and at Tayyabally in Karachi. These "were" also available at Sitara Market couple of years back but nowadays, its very difficult to find them there (hardly any left).

Got this thing from Pekhawar today. It says for M4/M16 . I am not sure if I can use it for my 9mm, but may be used for my Air Gun. It even has a Video Instruction CD.

Ok brother, if I find one will buy it. This looks some kind of universal thing, from .22 to .45 and even 12 GA? ?

Saif Bhai you are right. Although they have written 5.56 (almost .22) on the box but it is not so. I saw a review of this kit on YouTube, which also had the same observation. If I find a few pieces I will buy in bulk for forum members, but so far I have found just one.

I went to the Arms Bazar just ahead of Hayatabd, where Khyber Agency starts. I found two M4/M16 kits which were in a pretty bad shape, and there was just one 9mm/.45 cal kit a little large in size, just like the one THI has, but it in a very bad shape, lots of stuff was missing, and he was asking Rs 3500 for it.

Best kits are in Karachi now and price is around 4000. Peshawer and Lahore stuff is pretty beat up and missing some parts.
