Rubber knee high boots would be better. Cabela's, BPS or any similar brand.

For sliperry surfaces. Go to the cat shoes website and search flexion antislip shoes.
You will find many options. CAT is best in my view.

Operator belt is a steel buckle thick belt. Tdu belt is a plastic buckle with thinner belt. Operator is extreme sturdy enough for you to hang yourself by your waist on it, tdu is not that good but good enough to keep your pants on your hips under "most circumstances". hehehe and last but not the least Operator is a 43 dollar one, tdu is a 20 dollar one.
I always compare something with the result and what i want it for, then the availability and suitability on daily wear and last of all what i am ready to pay for it.""
I also want to buy the 5.11 watch as well and an "Agressor Parka". It is high in rain protection and high in warmth. Second would be "Patrol Rain pant", again high in warmth and rain protection.

If you buy them from Peshawar or Quetta, the price would be in the range of 3-3.5 k. However, out of all the shoes that I have (Bates, Altama, Rocky, Meindl, Blackhawk, Land's End, 511 Tactical, North Face, Cabela's), 511 Tactical are probably the "lowest" in quality. In fact, I don't prefer them wearing on hunting trips anymore. I have a pair of 511 Tactical Advance shoes.

+1 KBW.

Although I do not have SOOOO many shows, just two, black hawk and 5.11, the Blackhawk ones are head and shoulders above 5.11 ones in terms of durability, comfort and overall robust quality.

I had lacrosse boots
Brawny II DC 800g hunting boots for 4 years now. They were perfect for me in every manner. waterproof, warm and sturdy.
I used them 3-4 times a year for the hunting season in the winters. After my last hunting trip in January 2012, i washed them and put them aside in my shoe rack till December. In the first week of December i was invited for a hunting trip in Sindh so i got my boots on and was SHOCKED to find the sole literally disintegrating like powder in the jeep halfway to the campsite!

My assistant took the boots saying he could get new soles put in. I got the boots back in the evening and found a local rubber sole on. The pattern is highly conservative and not at all suitable for hunting or rough terrain. Needless to say i should not have expected anything more as the total cost came to Rs. 300 ! :/

Anyone know what happened? The sole is the only thing gone. the rest of the boot is still perfect. any advice on putting up a new sole/ where to get one in Karachi and how to avoid being in the same situation again? any treatment to be applied to boots before putting them away for the next season?

any replacement boot suggestions that are available in Karachi?

Thanks

LaCrosse makes very fine hinting shoes. It's too bad that the sole disintegrated like that. If you cleaned it properly and there was no harmful chemical applied it, the sole should have stayed on. It would be interesting to investigate the reason because we all have similar shoes for hunting and these are very expensive shoes. Any input from members will be appreciated.

regards

Just an update:
I got my Rocky shoes, as promised by my friend.
While window shopping at Sitara Market in Peshawar, I came across these ... and since the snow season was due, I thought they could might come in handy! ;)

YakTrax Crampons!
They can be put on any type of shoes, even on your walking joggers! ;)
