Our lives are incomplete without Pakoras, specially during Ramadan. Here is a unique pakora recipe, specially for anglers. As you know trout is a fairly tasty fish so we decided to make trout pakoras though I think this recipe can be used for any other fish also.

Ingredients:
Trout meat:1 lb
Bason (gram flour):250 gm
Milk:200 ml
Spices:Salt, red pepper (ground), cumin seed powder
Garlic paste:2 tea spoon
Lemon juice:25 ml

 Crush the trout meat into small pieces. This can be done with a fork or a knife as trout meat is very tender. Don't use grinder or any other machine as it will make a very fine mincemeat which is not needed. It should be small pieces.

 Mix salt, red pepper (crushed is better but powder can also be used) and cumin seed powder in gram flour (bason) and milk.

Make a paste and make sure that spices are thoroughly mixed. One can also use water instead of milk for making the paste but milk will make it more tasty.

 Marinate ground trout meat in bason paste. Make sure they are mixed properly.

 Let it marinate for one hour.
 Fry the meat balls like normal pakoras in olive oil (or any vegetable oil that you like).

Trout Pakoras are ready and perhaps these would be best pakoras you would have ever eaten. Unfortunately no pics of prepared pakoras because it was Iftar time and we were too busy eating these pakoras. But I can tell you that they are very very good

This recipe can be used for making pakoras from any fish meat . ;)

Sounds tasty and have no doubt on the taste.

Please post pictures of pakoras once tried again.

Yes. This recipe can be used for any fish. In my experience it is specially good for fish which do not taste very good at their own. The combination of spices can be changed to get different flavours. One could add coriander, ajwain (Carom / Trachyspermum ammi), green chilies, ginger etc and get different flavours.

But I tell you one thing, even a very ordinary tasting fish can be converted into something very nice by making pakoras. :)
