This isnt so much of a reciepe than just a way of cooking. My taya (Fathers elder brother) Mr. Tariq Mahmood, he was famous for fancy fishes in Pakistan, most of the people who now own fish shops, know him. He was very fond of fishing and made it a point to take me along on every trip. Ever since he passed away, i havent had the oppurtunity to go fishing.

Whenever we went fishing the rule was to eat the catch right there and then. My taya had a very strange method of cooking. He would take the fish...if it was too large he would cut it into smaller peices...and small ones as a whole and he would clean the fish...rub spicies (corriander, lemon, garlic, ginger, a bit of salt and pepper)..let it marinate for a while...then he would wrap it into folds of newspaper...4-5 folds later, he would thoroughly wet the newspaper..and put it on embers...his idea was to let it cook till the paper dries out and start smoldering...at tht point he would take it the heat and inside, we would have a nicely steamed and very tasty fish. I really missing doing all that stuff...

I am sure this method doesnt have a name...but i am sure with all the spicy news these days, the fish will probably be done in half the time

Interesting Share Fk bro ...

I know a similar recipe , in which banana leaves were used instead of newspaper and few mixed herbs were also sprinkled and buried in mud ..

Please next time when you go fishing, prepare newspaper there if you can and take few pics. I am very interested in knowing how it tastes and how we can make it when we go fishing next time. Thanks :greetings-waveyellow:
