Hi guys,

Was just searching the forum but was unable to find any discussion on ranges.few days back saw a posting of pak rangers new range but the membership fees for a civilian like me are too much.

Now let us start a discussion that which ranges is good and why ? And is there any range in Karachi or outskirts of Karachi where we can take monthly or per visit membership or fee.
Just awaiting for expert's feedback here who usually visit ranges.

Regards

I would suggest get Karsaz membership, I believe 100k for B category, and 150k for A category, with monthly fee of rs3600 and rs2500 respectively. It has all facilities for shooting such as pistol, shotgun, rifle, air pistol etc.

For just pistol and rifle (50mtr, .22LR), Country Club shooting range, located at Steel Town, is a good option, but the range is still under development, and unless it is completed, one cannot be sure of what facilities would be provided. Membership is 98k, monthly is rs1500. It allows usage of other facilities also, such as executive dining lounge, chalets, pool etc (at some charge of course).

Saif bro you mean first we have to pay 100k or 150k as per the category as an advance for membership and then 3600 or2500 each month ?

Yes. Membership cost is on the high side.

The upfront membership charges of 100k or 150k for Karsaaz range is one time or on an annual basis ?

Another cheaper option is PAF Korangi Creek range. Its much closer compared to other ranges and fee structure is quite flexible.

Because of lack of interest in their range, they were down to 20k life membership and 1000 PM. If interested I'll recheck. I think Yacht club membership is included in this.
Their 25m range is fine for precision shooting.

@Shariq bro,
I thought they had 200k membership, with Golf et al included. Please reconfirm.

You are right Bro. Their comprehensive membership is 300k which includes Golf club, Yacht club and shooting club.
Project nearly stalled when plans for a new road connecting Korangi Base with DHA were shelved. That is the time when fee structure was drastically restructured.
Now work has begun on the road so the project has got a new lease of life. Work is fast in progress at shooting club.
Plz excuse my earlier out-dated info.

@ adnan
Without GOLF ?
Where I grew up in California.
The Navy Built a Golf Course next to the Naval air station.
Across the Freeway was the Naval Weapons Station, which was also a wildlife Preserve.
When we would be waiting for the School Bus in the mornings.
The Navy Comanders would go by in their golf carts playing Golf.
Then all of a sudden , they would pull shotguns out of their golf bags and start Blasting at the Pheasants and Ducks that had flown over from the Weapons station.
It gave a whole new meaning to shooting 18 holes in the morning.
The best game can be found on golf courses,
Do they allow hunting on the golf course ? LOL
