Looking at the performance of our team members during yesterday's Competition and the preceding preparation, I feel it is important that we set our goals for the next 3 weeks and immediately start working to achieve them. The next competition is going to be held on June 22, 2014.

For the Professional Category - 25M Event, the following will continue to practice:

1) Saif - Single Hand

2) Wajeeh Hasan - Both Hands

3) Naveed Ghani - Both Hands

4) HMR - Single Hand

5) SA - Single Hand

(We will be discussing with Karsaz team to agree to the following: In the next competition, three out of the five Professional Category participants, will be required to shoot with Single Hand. In the third competition, this number will be increased to four, while from the fourth competition, all five participants from each team in this category will have to shoot single hand.)

For the Amateur Category - 15M Event, the following two sets of shooters will be working hard to have a go at winning the top three positions in the next month's competition:

(1) Six_Shooter, (2) FK, (3) OM Khan, and (4) Deathrow:

Current score averaging in the 160s and 170s zone in this category. We need to raise this to the 180s, which is not at all a difficult thing provided the practice is done with regularity. The top three positions in this category, during yesterday's competition went to participants scoring 186, 172 and 165.

(5) Optimus, (6) Siqbal41, and (7) DevilFalcon

Currently ranging in the 150s zone, all these three shooters have not only shown fast learning curve but also the dedication and the mindset to excel to the next level. There is no reason why with "daily" dry-fire practice at home, weekend range practice and the right mindset during the competition, any of these three cannot win one of the top three positions in this category.

(8) Owais Hasan, (9) GunPsycho, (10) SR and (11) NR

Continued practice and correcting the basics is advised. Do not feel disappointed and please continue to participate in all future competitions. There is a wealth of knowledge available in various shooters' range sessions threads. Please read those and identify the errors you're making. Seek advice at the range.

==============================================================================

IMPORTANT for ALL Shooter - DRY FIRING PRACTICE AT HOME:

Every one is strongly advise to practice dry firing at home on a daily basis. A 20 to 30 minute dedicated time given to this with the same dressing, footwear, ear protection, eye protection, the whole shebang, that you would have on the range or during the competition. A focused session of 5 warmup dry fire shots and then 4 strings of 5 shots each. Concentration level should be very high - at the same level as it would be during actual live fire sessions at the range. Follow due safety precautions.

I'll shoot with single hand hold.
IMO there should be two categories at 25m: professional and amateur. All those who have competed at National level earlier should compete with single hand hold. Rest can shoot with two hand hold in amateur category.

@ HMR,

If you're also shooting single hand, then we will ask Karsaz team for having 3 single hand shooters from each side in 25M event.

Let's meet in the next couple of days and decide on the professional & amateur two events for 25M.

M.COM..... considering all the range sessions required for practice one thing we all need is ammo...lots and lots of it... is there a possibility that we can all combine and order together in bulk to hunt for some outstanding rates?

and SA... once again thanks for the guidance...
As for the remaining TGF time....you all did great, because you dared to stand up against them... A trained and professional team with much more experience, skill and superior handguns as compared to us... Half the battle in fought and won in the heart and that is what all of you did...

@ Deathrow,

The bulk discount would bring the price down from 36/pop to 35/pop or at max 34/pop. This means that if you're buying even 500 rounds per person, it would save you between Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000 max. My advise is that you should not waste further time and buy the ammo immediately. Each weekend is important and no participant should miss the weekend range practice.

Moreover, please do not miss your daily dry-fire practice.

Hmmmm... and I was hoping for a 32 / pop rate... Anyhow that is perhaps being too optimistic..

Started dry firing practice since Sunday night. I must say, a properly conducted dry-fire practice along the lines mentioned above in my first post, is indeed proving to be very useful. Already identifying a lot of mistakes I'm making and trying to improve on them.

35/pop is already being offered on a single box purchase @ Gun for Defense. I think a bulk quantity will for sure bring it down to 34/pop. Also, buying a bulk quantity will prove beneficial in another aspect too, having rounds of the same batch makes a difference on the final score :)

@SA can a shooter for the 15mtr event on his own choice, shoot single hand, without asking the competition to change grips.

I just had a word with Usman from Guns for Defence, he is willing to give TGF Redbox at the rate of 34 for any quantity.

Deathrow - I had a feeling he would do that :)

Please can you confirm one little bit of information with Usman before we all rush to his shop. The rounds he's offering at 34/pop, which year is it???

The one's I got from him @ 35 were of 2011, ideally one would like 2014, or 2013...

My 02 Only.

At Karsaz on competition day, I realized that the POF ammunition was being used by every single shooter representing Karsaz. When Dr, Asad offered me a few rounds to test, I felt the recoil was almost half, the accuracy was exactly as it was with 311, and the fact that they have 2014 batch available in their outlet for 35/pop. My point is, it just might be a good time to get back to the POF ammo, at least for competition and range practice.

Regards...

Outlet at Karsaz does not have April, 2014 and beyond lot as yet. Tx bro doesn't enjoy FTFs during strings.

That said, I remember the outlet guy at Karsaz offering a bullet exchange guarantee in case of a FTF. But then again, everyone has preferences as to what they feel comfortable with ... :)

NG bro an FTF during a string does affect focus. I find it highly distracting.

You are absolutely right, not just the focus but the after-thoughts of whether it was the gun or the ammo is what gets me worried all over should FTF occurs...

Maybe with the April 2014 batch it might not be the case? Anyone around who has used the new batch - any FTF or FTE, etc?

I'm willing to purchase upto 500 post March 2014 batch of POF ammo and use it at the range to put this issue to rest. Just need someone to help me out find those production batches.

Currently, the lot available is dec 2013 which is a bit better the previous one. The April lot is expected to be completely trouble free but has not landed here yet. We all used POF on game day and I don't remember any ftf's.

That's interesting. Could the members who faced ftf with POF ammo name the lot number / year so that other members know about it?
