yes, surprise break is a must. However, I don't see you flinching in any of the targets. You just got distracted perhaps and could not focus properly. The sight picture was perhaps not correct. Were you wearing ear muffs? Do you anticipate recoil?

BTW, it will take lot of shooting practice to get rid of these one odd fliers. It's not easy and keeps happening with every shooter. I wish human being were computerized machines which could act the same way every time...... but human beings are not machines and every action that they try to repeat may actually be different from the previous action though they might be trying hard to replicate. Champion shooters are able to replicate the previous action more consistently, that's it, but they are also not perfect every time. Even Olympic top ten shoot fliers.....

So, FLINCING still remains the most popular mistake in TGF somehow and members like to contribute every flier to flinching. Please note that even if the round is shooting low, flinching is just one of the numerous mistakes that a shooter might have committed.

regards

@ KBW,

Sir, the wind was a killer yesterday. Strong wind made it quite difficult to shoot and I too faced difficulty in executing my shot properly more than half of the time.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.

@KBW shb - I was wearing ear plugs, had given ear muffs to a friend.
Good sound barrier via ear muffs are really helpful in concentration and that may have affected me yesterday.

At times in anticipation of recoil i felt I would flinch and I stopped breaking the shot. Started all over again. By this I meant flinch was noted (actual shot was not fired).
I have myself some concerns on the sight picture as at times during the session front sight seemed to be changed (knowingly or unknowingly it got changed somehow  ).

And very rightly as you pointed out, focus will come with practice. We are humans after all.

Wajeeh-That's good shooting and a little more efforts can improve it further. You have rightly pointed out strong winds over the weekend and I had a bad range day on 10th but at the same time Optimus did well in the same shooting conditions.

Wishing you and all TGF members good luck and since we moving close to the competition day hence recommend all to start visiting range more often and lot of dry firing at home.

Practice is key to success.

Today's Practice session at Karsaaz
CZ Shadow
Ammo - Chinese Red box
POA - 6/7 junction

Warmup session and to check sights if they have moved

Image

First Target - 25 M
Score 174/200
Score on target of 175 is not correct. While uploading noticed first string 1 point error.

Image

Second Target - 25 M
Score 184/200

Image

Observations in shooting at Karsaaz

- No wind challenge
- Better target view and height (for me atleast)
- Above two factors surely positively affected me.

Thanks to Holy Gunsmith (Saif) advise about the holding of the gun. If the gun is held harder from the non shooting hand i.e. left for me, shots will move towards left and if held tight from the shooting hand i.e. right hand, then shots would land slight towards right. A learning to remember.

Wajeeh has the right temperament. He shot well in a Monthly Karsaaz Competetion last year. He'll do well.
